Dear Mom and Dad,
With how busy our lives have become, I feel as if I do not say thank you nearly enough. From the moment I was born you both have provided me with endless love and support throughout the good and bad times. I am the person I am today because of both of you.
Dad, you are my number one fan. Thank you for coming to every single sporting event I had in middle school and high school. There was not a single soccer game or tennis match that I can think of that you were not in the stands or on the other side of the fence, cheering me on. From the time I was a little girl, you encouraged me to follow my dreams in and out of school. I can even go to say that my love for writing and reading is because of you. You read countless stories to me as I grew up and eventually had me read to you.
The number one thing I can thank you for is making me realize how to enjoy every moment. You have made me laugh a countless number of times and make even the most ordinary situations extraordinary.
Mom, you are my best friend. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on or a listening ear. Anytime I feel as if I cannot do something, I think of you. The strength you have inspires me to move forward. The love and care you have for those special in your life has taught me to hold on to those that truly matter. You have been there for me through every hardship and every high. You are there to watch The Bachelor or have a deep conversation with me. No matter what the circumstance, I know I can count on you.
The number one thing that I can thank you for is providing me with everything and more. Whether it simply be a hand to hold or a present that I did not need, you made sure that I had everything I ever wanted.
God could not have blessed me with a better pair of parents. I am the person I am today because I am a part of each of you.
I tell you both everything, and I wish the same could be said for other children with their parents.
As I go off to finish another semester of college, I thank you for everything that you have done for me. One day I hope that my career can help me pay you back for everything you have given me.
I miss being home when I go to college. I miss Sunday breakfast of dad's special pancakes. I miss watching The Bachelor or American Idol with mom. However, I know that I am going off to make you both proud.
No amount of words could ever say thank you enough. I could not ask for better parents or better best friends.
Love always,
Your little girl
