Dear Little Sis,
They say over time your siblings will become your best friends, but I'm still waiting for that day. Being seven years apart isn't easy. We are in totally different chapters of our lives and at times, it is hard to relate. We fight and you say you hate me just like any siblings do, but I hope that changes. Until then, I have a few things I would like to write to you; things that I hope you always remember, even when I'm not there to remind you.
As I've grown up, you've watched me from a far. You've sat back and watched me fall hard and learn some hard lessons. I hope that you've not only listened, but also learned from my mistakes. So, don't break curfew, always tell the truth, be straight up, not fake, always care for others even if they don't care for you, and remember to always keep your room clean.
There will come a time when you're trying to figure everything out. Your friends may suck, you may have boy trouble, or maybe things just aren't going in your favor, but always remember to stay true to who you are. Don't get caught up in the gossip, the lies, or the popularity because at the end of the day it means nothing and should never define you. If you see something you don't like, strive to set out and change it because that is what people value.
As you grow older, your faith will be tested, but always remember to stick to what you believe. Don't surround yourself with people who make you doubt your faith or morals because at the end of the day, that's all you have. Remember that He is the one that will always support you no matter what and give thanks to Him whenever you get a chance. Turn to your faith in your times of weakness and in your times of sadness because that will get you through anything.
It's taken me until recently to realize how much you mean to me. How much I love you. I hope that someday we are best friends. I hope we call each other everyday, just like how Mom and her sister's do. I hope that I get to see all of the great accomplishments I know you are going to achieve and I hope I can be the one to help you achieve them. Until then, I want you to know that I love you little sis and I'm always here for you no matter what.
