Dear Harris Eberhart,
There have been many memories and life changing skills that you’ve taught me and I greatly appreciate that, so I would like to thank you.
I thank you for showing me how to jump off coops.
I thank you for showing me that the Corey Lake Monster is my friend.
I thank you for the confidence you’ve given me.
I thank you for teaching me to linger a little long.
I thank you for the friends I’ve gained across the world.
I thank you for the different cultures I’ve experienced.
I thank you for the countless crazy meal times.
I thank you for the never ending bowl of purple soup with a side of ravioli.
I thank you for the island sand that must never be dug up.
I thank you for the opening campfire stories that will be told generations to come.
I thank you for the Choco Tacos every free period.
I thank you for the endless supply of camp t-shirts and merchandise.
I thank you for Princess Pat and a Ricabamboo sailing across the channel too.
I thank you for the goals I’ve been able to set and achieve because of raggers.
I thank you for teaching me to wear a life jacket on the water trampoline.
I thank you for allowing me to ride in the little red wagon.
I thank you for teaching me to attempt to speak in different accents.
I thank you for the camp history that will always be there.
I thank you for appreciating nature, even if it tries to open your door in the middle of the night.
I thank you for the Man in White and Old Lady Harwood always being there for a good story, even if they can’t be shared.
I thank you for teaching me how to look up, laugh, love, and lift.
I thank you for letting me know benches will never be on fire.
I thank you for inside jokes only we will understand.
I thank you for the teaching me how to be caring, respectful, honest and responsible.
I thank you for repeatedly telling me to stay on the path, to pick up trash, always wear my shoes, being on time, and to DRINK LOTS OF WATER.
I thank you for teaching me that goodbye is different than good night.
I thank you for the friends that have become my family that I can always call on if I need them.
And for giving me a place I can always call home.
When you envisioned camp, you never knew that your dream would become over thousands of children's reality.
And here’s to many more years of dreams.
Lots of Love,
Sydney Pyfer, Morris Head 2016
