Dear Friend,
I am writing to you because I care. I want you to know that you are loved and cherished and valuable. You are more than a doll to be manipulated. You are not a toy that can be discarded once the owner decides it wants something else. You are a diamond, one of a kind, unique and beautiful.
Your heart is broken, your self-esteem in the basement, and you are left alone. Or at least you think you're alone. There are, in fact, so many who see you and love you. It doesn't have to be him. Or that guy. Or this guy. Or him again. No man can tell you who you are. Only you can tell yourself that. No man can tell you that you aren't enough because you are, you aren't meant to complete him, nor him you, you are meant to complement each other.
Why do you do this to yourself? You let people step all over you and you are left shattered on the ground. Instead of trying to put yourself back together you rely on others, but not the ones who will do you justice. When you are left broken, you are the only one who knows where all the pieces go. Don't let another man do that for you; if he does, you will be repaired with a few pieces missing because he takes them for his own benefit. Of course not every man will do this, but take note of the signs of manipulation and don't be blind to them. Also don't ignore them and take them lightly because if you wouldn't forgive a friend for it, why would you forgive a man?
I am your friend and I know I am being harsh but it is tough love. As an outsider I see a lot, I see the lies and manipulation, I hear your grief and I give you all the advice I can. At the beginning I told you that it'll be OK, just give it time, he'll be back, but as he came back again and again and you forgave him again and again, I began to tell you to leave, that he's not worth it, don't give him the time of day. I only say this not because I am discrediting your love for him I say this because I know that you deserve that strong and unconditional love that you give- and I admire so much- in return. You deserve the world and nothing less from whoever you choose to love.
Of course, if you prove me wrong, I would be overjoyed. I will always be skeptical and I want you to prove to me that he's worth it. I want to see his love and not just hear about it through you. I want to know that you are in good hands and I can have heart that I don't have to worry anymore. I only want the best for you because I love you. You are my friend and all I want is to see you happy.
Love,
Your Friend
