To my future puppy,

Hi, its your new mom here! I can't wait to meet you! I'll pick you out when I am ready to fully take care of you. I wouldn't want to bring you into a home that wasn't ready to handle you and your cuteness. I don't care if you're a rescue pup or a pup from a breeder, I'll love you just the same.

I can't promise you that I won't take a lot of pictures of you. Sorry in advance that all of my social media will be filled with pictures and videos of you doing cute little dog things. I'll try not to leave you home alone for too long while I am at work. As soon as work is over, I'll come right home to you wagging your tail by the front door. I will always let you ride in the car with the windows rolled all the way down so you can hang your head out of the window. We will definitely be taking frequent trips to Petsmart a couple of times a month as well as the dog park.

I promise to always let you sleep next to me when there is a thunderstorm; even if you hog the bed. I won't get mad at you when you wake me up early in the morning because you have to go out. I'll look forward to that because then we can take our morning walks. I promise to shower you with kisses and belly rubs everyday. I can't wait to watch you grow up. I'm looking forward the winter so you can run and play in the snow as well as you opening up your stocking on Christmas morning. Summer will be exciting to watch you swim in the pool. I'll have to tell you to stop eating the flowers in the spring. Watching you jump through the piles of leaves during the fall will be priceless; not to mention you get to wear a cute Halloween costume. I already know that you're going to be a handful of energy but I'm so excited to run around outside with you.

I can't wait for you to be my best friend. I already love you so furry much.

-Your future mom

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
