An Open Letter To My Fridge

You and my pantry are the two places in my house where I know I'll find something that will make me happy. Whether it's ingredients, snacks, or last night's leftovers, I know you have my back. You're the first place on my mind in the morning when I roll out of bed and trudge down the stairs. I hope that you won't let me down and will hold something worthwhile for some sort of meal today. Even if there isn't something as impressive as cold pizza or ingredients for an omelette, I know I'll find something inside of you to make me happy.

They say not to judge a book by its cover, but to base your opinions off of the actual content, and its quality within. While that works for people, I think this says something about you as well. You're covered with magnets and clips, holding documents going all the way back to me being in middle school. You are a central hub for information, as well as a location for papers to get buried.

Being away at school means I have a miniature version of you, but that could never replace the real thing. I never really appreciated how much space you had until I was restricted to nearly a quarter of your size. Having a mini fridge means my freezer isn't the best at keeping things frozen, so I can't have toaster waffles or ice cream, which could be a benefit to restrain the freshman 15, or at the least, prevent me from over purchasing things I won't necessarily finish. I can't keep the mini fridge as organized as you, and it will never be a central hub for information the way you are.

When I come back home I'm genuinely ecstatic because I know that you will be full of food that outshines anything the dining hall could serve. I know that there are certain select items that you always have, most of which, I don't keep in my room because I know it'd be wasteful to spend money on it just for two people's consumption. Besides the fact, we spend most of the time eating food our unlimited swipes can get us. Being home also means at 3 a.m. during my Netflix binge, I can come downstairs, and grab whatever I want to snack on without disturbing anyone else, and that's a lot nicer than nearly falling off a loft onto you because I can't climb down in socks.

I really appreciate all of the options you hold for me. You keep my leftovers fresh enough for breakfast when in reality I'm looking for those during my snack break from Netflix. You are the perfect size for me, and I'm always excited to come home and see what you have to offer.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
