Dear Future Me

I hope you're still painting, writing, and singing horribly off key

Dear future me,

I hope you're working hard and making yourself proud. If I were you (which I am), I'd want to be out there taking the world by storm. Whatever you're doing, and I hope you're teaching students, I pray that you're doing so to the best of your ability. God gave you strengths, and I intend for you to use them.

I hope you're happy. Not just getting by, I mean genuinely happy. All I really want is for you to be happy with your life. Don't settle for something that doesn't constantly bring a smile to your face. In all that you do, make sure you find the joy in it. You won't be in this world for very long, but while you're here, make the most of it. Wake up every morning ready to make the world a better place.

Along with being happy, I hope you've found yourself a God fearing man. A real man. I hope you're still praying for that man like I am now. If God hasn't given you your husband yet, I pray that you keep your head held high and continue to wait for him. You don't necessarily need a man to be content with your life, but you definitely don't need a man who isn't worth your time of day. Pray for your future husband, and if you have him already, pray with him and continue to pray for him daily. True love is worth the wait, and I hope that you will wait it out to find the one who fits your soul. Please, please, please make sure he loves the Lord first and you second. A husband like that is worth all the time in the world.

I hope you're still painting, writing, and singing horribly off key. Please don't lose your spark. God made you one crazy, spunky individual, and that better not wear off over time. I hope you're still searching for random crafts on Pinterest and making them your own. (I also hope you have a craft room in your house; I really want a craft room.) I pray you're still in love with travel. Don't ever stop exploring this world. There's so much to be experienced, and I want you to see all that you can. I want you to do anything and everything that you can do whether that's traveling the world, pursuing a hobby, or writing a book. Just make sure to apply yourself whole heartedly to whatever you're doing.

All little side note back on the husband topic. I hope you have a healthy, happy, and beautiful family. If God has blessed you with children (hopefully with your husband), I pray that you are pouring God's word into them. Raise your children to be servants of the Lord. Raise them to be kind, generous, and helpful. I also pray that you're making it through and that your husband is washing the dirty laundry from time to time because we both know how much you hate doing the laundry. You could make those kids of yours do the laundry. Just pull the "honor thy father and mother" card on them. I'm kidding! Not really.

All in all, I hope you've made a great life for yourself. I pray that you don't regret the decisions you've made. For you, I want the best life possible.

Sincerely,

Your younger self

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
