Dear High School Seniors,
To those of you who are wishing your life away and counting down the days until college, and to those of you who are barely at school and suffering a major case of senioritis: be present. As a college freshman who’s seen two weeks fly by and has too much work to do, know that senior year is a really special time.
It’s honestly similar to college, since you’re barely home and attending many events, from homecoming to prom and everything in-between. Yet the benefits of living with parents or surrounded by a comfortable group of people are still there: a home-cooked meal once in a while, a comfortable bed, familiarity. That’s probably the hardest thing about the first few weeks of college and that adjustment: everything is unfamiliar, from the physical surroundings to the people and professors.
Trust me, you’ll get to college, or wherever you want to go soon enough. Take advantage of people and places that will be foreign to you in a year or two and spend as much time with those people as possible. Time passes sooner than you realize.
Love,
An Overwhelmed College Freshman
