To my best friend,
It's the last semester of senior year. As I sit here, I think about all the people who have impacted my life, you are definitely one of them. I know that in the fall, we're not going to be together all the time. Just because we won't be talking every day, doesn't make us any less of best friends. It just gives us a chance to meet new people and grow as individuals. I know for a fact that whenever I need you or you need me, we will be there for each other. But I just want to take the time and thank you for being "That friend."
This is what I mean:
"That friend" is the one that texts you just to wish you a good day. That friend is the one you randomly text back and forth Twitter jokes, quotes, best friend goals Instagram posts, etc.
"That friend" is who you laugh or cry with. The one that has been on vacations with you, and slept over time and time again. The one your parents call your "sister" and their "adopted daughter." The one who is your dance partner, the one that drives you around, your homework friend and simply your cuddle buddy.
"That friend" is there for you when you need them, and even when you don't. They listen and give you advice. They never get tired of you and you never get tired of them. You never have to say how you're feeling around them because they already know.
"That friend" is the one who you pig out with. They finish family bags of chips with you and they are without a doubt your go-to whenever you want to make an ice cream run. You guys say you want to work out but then you never do, but that's okay because you just keep eating anyway.
"That friend" is the one you go to before anyone else. You FaceTime them in the shower, or when you're going through your first heart break. They are there for you when you go through something big or even through something small. They know every detail about you and your life, because they're the one person who you want to share your life with.
"That friend" is the one who saved you. They loved you and reminded you how much you're worth, even when you didn't see it yourself. In your dark time, they were your light. "That friend" knows your flaws. They know you're hard to love but they love you anyway and you love them too.
"That friend" is probably one of the best people you will ever know. As you get ready to leave high school, this is the friendship you will base all your other relationships on. So no, your friendship isn't perfect but it means the world to you. The years will pass and things will change but this friendship never will.
So to "that friend" thank you, for being my best friend, forever and always. You've pushed me to become the best possible version of myself and you've made me better, just by knowing you.
