When I was five-years-old, I BEGGED my mom to have another kid so I could be the big sister I always dreamed of. My over-sized brown eyes envisioned having a little nugget that I could play board games with, write stories with, go on exciting adventures with, and most importantly, have as a best friend.

It wasn't until I was about ten-years-old (when it became evident that I would forever be an only child), that I realized that having a sibling would have been the most catastrophic, disastrous, and horrifying event to possibly occur.

Oh God, I am so blessed that I never had to deal with a bratty little brother or obnoxious older sister. I am forever thankful that my mom never had another baby, except for the extraordinary, unprecedented ME.

Being an only child has its perks, but my whole life changed when I came to college two years ago. I was always accustomed to having my own room, getting parental attention, and, well... being spoiled.

If you're in college and never grew up with siblings, then you can definitely relate. Here are 15 things every only child experienced after moving away to college, as told by your favorite, hilarious .GIFs.

1. When you walk into your dorm room, look around, and realize you have to share a room for the first time in your ENTIRE life

2. When your roommate asks if (s)he can... *shiver* BORROW something that's YOURS

3. When your friends come to you upset about how much they miss their siblings

4. When your friends aren't giving you the constant attention you KNOW you deserve

5. When your friend without a meal plan asks to... *shiver* SHARE some of YOUR food

6. When you're absolutely OBSESSED with your sorority/fraternity buds because they're like the siblings you never had

7. When your parents always did your laundry back home and you have to do it by yourself for the first time

8. When you call and Facetime your mom WAY more than your friends talk to their parents

9. When you're CONSTANTLY surrounded by college students and miss your alone time

10. When your friends ask if you were lonely growing up without siblings

11. When people try to get in your personal space

12. When you start scoping out potential significant others on campus who HAVE siblings so you can be an aunt or uncle someday

13. When you don't know how to have a proper argument with your roommate because you didn't have anyone to battle with growing up

14. When your parents consistently send you money to make sure you're OK with funds

15. When you realize that despite your mishaps or flaws in college, you will ALWAYS be the favorite child

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
