One Tree Hill is a show for all ages, but I definitely related to it a lot going through high school. Whether I was having boy troubles, friend troubles, or anything else, One Tree Hill helped me through it all. It was nice to come home, turn on the tv and feel comforted by the characters in the show. Here are some of my favorite quotes that I think all high schoolers should hear.

1. "Somewhere out there is something better, and that something is worth fighting for."

Some people think high school is a long time, but in reality, it is only four short years of your entire life. No matter how bad life seems to get sometimes, always remember that things get better.

2. "Sometimes the beauty is in the attempt. We took a shot, we gave it everything we had and we did it well, it just didn't work out."

High school is a time to try new things. Not everything you try will be something you like, but how will you know if you never try? This is especially true when it comes to relationships/friendships. Do not listen to the opinion of other people, but instead, make your own opinion.

3. "It's all gonna be okay, I know that. Some days are just kinda messy, ya know?"

Not all of your high school days will be happy ones. You're bound to have some bad days. Just remember that tomorrow is a new day and anything is possible.

4. "People are gonna label you. It's how you overcome those labels, that's what matters."

People label each other every day, but what people label you as doesn't always have to be what you're stuck with for life. Overcoming those labels takes strength and bravery. Just because someone calls you a geek or a jock doesn't mean that defines who you truly are.

5. "Being afraid is okay. But if you don't work through that fear, you might miss out on some pretty great things."

There are so many opportunities in high school to step out of your comfort zone. Fear is the only thing that stops us from going after what we want. Too many of us let fear get in the way of our dreams. If you believe in yourself and let go of the fear, I can guarantee some amazing opportunities will come your way.

6. "Sometimes we expect more from others because we'd be willing to do that much for them."

Not everyone is going to have the same heart as you. Not everyone is going to care about you as much as you care about them and that is okay. Friends will come and go throughout these four years, but the true ones will always stick by your side no matter what you go through together.

7. "You never think the last time is the last time, you think there'll be more, you think you have forever but you don't."

High school doesn't last forever. There will be a ton of "lasts" that occur during your senior year. Your last high school basketball game, your last prom, your last class with your best friends you have known since kindergarten. Accomplish everything you can in high school and don't waste any time with anyone. Most of all, don't take high school for granted. It is where everything happens for the first time and it's where you start to realize who you truly are.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
