My Top 5 Favorite Songs To Help You Figure Out Your Top 5
the ABSOLUTE

Have you ever experienced a song giving you a sense of euphoria? Like an unexplainable feeling that just ultimately gives you such utter happiness? I think it is so important that everyone in their lifetime has this experience at least one time. Music is such an important part of our lives and I feel as if sometimes songs are overlooked and music as a whole is overlooked for how incredible it is.

Being someone who cannot play even the slightest chord or string on any instrument, I feel as if I appreciate music so much more because I love listening to what people have created. The songs that we hear on the radio or we discover in the bottom of someone's SoundCloud or Spotify playlists have been crafted to specifically sound the way they do. The people who have created the songs we know and love have spent hours, months, and even years writing our favorite songs and I think it is so important to take that into consideration.

For your listening and viewing pleasures, I have compiled some of my favorites songs that I feel everyone should listen to.

(these are in no particular order)

1. Somebody Else- the 1975

This song is genuinely a crowd pleaser for anyone. I have been trying to analyze it for months and after consulting with my best friend and cousin we have come to the conclusion that this song is talking about breaking up with someone and then seeing them with someone else and being really mad about them being with someone else because you cannot imagine them being with anyone other than you.

2. Nothin' Like You- Dan & Shay

This song is just really adorable and is just a guy saying how he wants to be inside this girls world. She is everything to him and nothing compares to her. She is special and unique and he just loves everything about her.

3. No Promises- Cheat Codes ft. Demi Lovato

I'm not too sure what this song is about but I think it's about two people trying to decide if they should be together. Whatever it's about, it is a real good tune. This song actually inspired me to write this article. This song just fills me with such joy and makes me so pumped up when I play it in the car.

4. Dirty Little Secret- All American Rejects

I feel as if this one is a no-brainer. Don't ever hesitate to channel your inner early 2000s self when it comes to songs like this. This is a personal fav honestly because it reminds me of the movie She's The Man and who doesn't love that movie.

5. Island Song- Zac Brown Band

Being that I'm from Florida, this song especially appeals to me and a lot of people in my town. My hometown of St. Petersburg truly feels like a little slice of heaven and I think this song is ultimately about St. Petersburg. This song makes me so relaxed and makes me miss home. It talks about just having a drink on the beach and having no cares! It's a great song for anyone who likes a little island tune. If you wanna know where you can find me this week, I'll be in the islands. Treasure Island that is! (St. Pete puns!)

All in all, songs are so important. Not only to me but to the millions of others in the world who worship songs the way I do and the beautiful humans that create these masterpieces that we get to listen to every day. I truly thank every artist for their contribution to someone's top 5. And to those I mentioned above, keep doing what you do!!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
