Seven semesters down, one semester left.
The intimidating “real world” awaits in just a few short months. No more tests and quizzes missed classes and schedules how you like them. No.
Seven down, one left.
Now we must follow the rules of the world—work a job or continue your education. But what if it wasn’t that simple? Somehow, 21 years still aren't enough time to figure out what I want to do. I just need a little more time.
Seven down, one left.
It doesn’t seem plausible that anything could take my best friends away from me. And yet, something will. Graduation will relocate me and all my friends who only live a block away. The clock is ticking, ticking toward the mysteries of life.
Seven down, one left.
One semester left to have my biggest worry be a 10-page paper due in five hours I haven’t started. To stay up pulling an all-nighter. To skip lunch because I have to cram for my last final. Hopefully, the real world won’t be as tiring as these classes are.
Seven down, one left.
But the real world isn’t starting just yet. It’s true, seven semesters have passed. But one more.
One left.
Time may be ticking toward us, but it sure hasn’t passed us, either. This will be our year. The year of “I did, not “I should have.” The year to spend as much time with your friends.
One left.
One semester left to go cliff jumping. To never miss a Tuesday night special at the bar. To get out of bed and be more spontaneous. To go to all the college parties you possibly can. To throw the best college party you can. To visit all buildings on campus. To make the best memories imaginable.
It might seem scary that seven semesters are gone from you like that. But it’s time to embrace all that your final one can offer.
It's time to make 2016 our year.
