83 songs. Five studio albums. One feature film. Millions of fans. Four (formerly five) members. After just five years, One Direction has had a prolific, lucrative career. If you're busy with finals and you don't have time to sift through their vast discography in order to make your mental breakdown playlist, never fear. I have taken too much time out of my week to sift through it for you.
Here are One Direction's Top 10 Bangers:
1. "Best Song Ever"
This hit sounds eerily like that "Baba O'Reilly" song on your dad's iPod, but no one has questioned it yet, so go ahead and jam out.
2. "Story of My Life"
If you haven't belted this song out in your shower, you're not living your best life. With upbeat guitar and simple lyrics, this song is incredibly singable and digestible. And, hey, it kind of means something.
3. "What Makes You Beautiful"
Known to your parents as "You Don't Know That You're Beautiful" or "That Catchy Song We Heard on the Radio That One Time," this is a tried and true classic. I'm not sure how many church groups have rewritten this song to be about Jesus, but I'm pretty sure it's in the millions. One time, I even heard it in a Chinese restaurant.
4. "Steal My Girl"
Go ahead, pretend this song was written about you. We've all done it. This is the type of song you just want blast as you ride down the California interstate.
5. "Drag Me Down"
Straight off their latest album, this single has given One Direction a more relevant pop sound. It even has a drop – super in right now! (Okay, it's a very slight drop, but it's there!)
6. "One Thing"
A classic. Not sure what the one thing is, but this song has it.
7. "Midnight Memories"
This is the closest that One Direction has gotten to a song alluding to drinking. Add this one to your party playlist and let loose.
8. "Gotta Be You"
A bit of a deep cut for those who haven't followed 1D from the beginning, but it made the list for Harry Styles' pre-pubescent high notes and adorable lyrics.
9. "Up All Night"
Okay, maybe I was wrong before. This could have been the boys' first song about drinking -- or maybe it's about pulling an all-nighter to study for an exam. It's perfect for dance study breaks during Dead Week. Trust me.
10. "Perfect"
One Direction's latest single is "Perfect" and it's perfect. Upon a few listens, I'm a bit concerned that this is the group's cry for help from the copious amount of work and fame and the effects of everything on their personal lives, but I have a very active imagination.
Indulge yourself this Dead Week and rock out to my official "One Direction's Top 10 Bangers" playlist.
