Preface: While a lot of my distinguished colleagues will put out a from time to time, this satirical piece was not meant to attack them personally, but rather the bland and lifeless style of writing that only brushes the surface of any given topic.

1. The "future of broadcast journalism" is just an assortment of buzzwords and funny pictures.


2. While listicles are great sources of entertainment, some people are actually resorting to them as news sources.


3. Listicles aren't challenging. At all.

They use up the same elementary school vocabulary that Donald Trump uses in his speeches

(I know I saiddog GIFs. Trump counts.)

4. A listicle will never truly help you understand any given topic - just a skim and a click away.

5. There's only so many listicles you can read before they all start to look the same.

6. Clickbait is downright modern-day yellow journalism.


7. Whenever some writers wait last minute to submit an article and can't think of a topic, most of us just lazily throw together a listicle. *cough, sorry, cough*

8. Listicles contribute to our generation's shortened attention span.

9. Oh, look! Another listicle!
