Growing Up With Older Brothers

Older brothers can be frustrating, but at the end of the day I would not trade them for the world.

If you asked me to describe, what older brothers are like, I would tell you Sour Patch Kids. Older brothers are exactly like Sour Patch Kids. Growing up they are what feels like unbearably tough, annoying, or SOMETIMES just plain rude (Love y'all.). However, they are always the ones who will be supporting you in your corner. Yes, they seem tough, but when you take a good look at what your brothers have done for you growing up, they are truly a blessing.

My brothers made me tough. Well tougher than the average person. They did the older brother thing where they picked on me, but they also challenged me. They push my buttons like no other person can, even to this day, but all in all I feel like it has helped me. Sure, I am still sensitive from time to time. However, as I have gotten older, I have not let as much get to me. When I was little, I would bawl like a baby anytime anyone said anything slightly negative to me. Now I brush it off. I feel as though my brothers did indeed, make me tougher. They also made me more competitive, granted they can still beat me at pretty much anything. However, I possess a stronger drive to try and win against them. Even when they beat me because they are 'stronger' and 'smarter', I still love challenging myself against them. I know one of these days I will win against my brothers at something.

My brothers like to seem tough, but underneath it all they truly are so compassionate and considerate. Ultimately, I know they would do anything for me, and I would do anything for them. I know they love me and would protect me. They made life fun growing up, there never was a dull moment. It was inevitably an enjoyable time when they were there. My brothers are, two of the most influential people in my life. They are who I have looked up to for as long as I can remember. I wanted to be around them all the time. Even when they did not want me following them around or requesting them to play with me; I still wanted to be around them. I thought they were the coolest people I knew at times. Someone once told me in high school, that I frequently talk about my brothers without recognizing it. It genuinely surprised me when they told me that; but at the same time it made sense. The reason for this is solely, I adore my brothers. I think they are great husbands, friends, and now one of them is a great father. They are everything I think a man should be in this day and age. Sure, they aren't perfect by any means but to me they have done pretty well for themselves. They truly are the best brothers in the world. I am so glad I was granted the blessing to have them as mine.

Having older brothers is truly like having Sour Patch Kids. They start out sour growing up. They are tough and pester you. However, the best day is when you discover the sweet side of them. They would do anything for you and are legitimately the best people in your corner. Finally, the one tiny twist to them being Sour Patch Kids, is you never want your brothers to be gone.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
