"Run Hide Fight" are the words used by OSU Emergency Management Twitter to warn students about an active shooter. Near Watts hall, there was a suspect running pedestrians over with a car and then proceeded to stab them with a butcher knife. Police arrived on the scene within minutes and took control. It took three shots to kill the person suspected of committing this heinous crime.

November 28th, 2016 is no longer be just another ordinary day in America. On this day, eleven students were severely injured by stab wounds or being struck by a car. One student has been reported as critically hurt. It's sad to say this isn't the first time we have dealt with an issue like this. This will now be the 32nd school shooting that has occurred since Columbine in 1999.

This is a time of mourning and processing the horrible event that has occurred. This is not the time to make your rants about gun control and your beliefs on the second amendment. Ohio State University has become another statistic on our long list of college shootings.

This problem has been seen throughout our country too many times. When does this list come to an end? It's almost been the fourth year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting. This massacre killed 27 people of those 18 were children. This is sickening to hear and process. Yet we as a nation are so quick to assume the killer has a mental illness; because who in their right mind would do this?

I ask myself that same question when I hear stories like this. When I turn on the news, I can't count on one hand how many positive stories I hear. On the other hand I watch and hear the tragedies unfolding not only in the United States, but around the world.

Make sure you hug your kids, loved ones, and friends today and tell them you love them. You never know when your last day is going to be. You don't think you will become a victim. That there is no way this can happen to your school or hometown. The reality is that our lives can be taken at any time. It shouldn't take this many tragedies for a nation or community to come together.

Thank you to the men and woman in blue protecting us. Thank you for risking your life to make sure we are okay. Thank you for everything. I know that you are getting a bad reputation in the media.

Today we need to take the time to keep our thoughts in the students and families of Ohio State University.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
