Oh Netflix My Netflix I Think Its Time We Broke Up
Tumblr

A Friday night after a long week we all think to our selves is it even worth it to go out or should I just watch Netflix tonight. Some might think this more then others but we all know how it feels. Most of the time when you have this thought, if your friends don’t do good enough convincing you end up staying in and watching Netflix all night long. I think its time we stop that; I think its time we say yes to going out even when we are tired. Say yes to going on a hike during the day rather then watch Netflix. Say yes to going on a crazy nighttime adventure with your friends. Our college years are one of the last times that we will be able to randomly go for a drive at 2 am with our friends or go out Wednesday-Sunday.

We need to live life to the fullest while we still can. I know how it feels to just want to lay all day. We all do. But lets end that today. From today- till the day we no longer can, say yes to any adventure that comes our way, say yes to staying up late even when you have an 8 AM class the next day. The memories will be reward enough. Say yes while we still can. Netflix and our beds will always be there, but the ability for an adventure may not. You want to be sitting at your desk one day and think back and know you took full advantage of the college years you had. Coming from a senior approaching her graduation in the spring, it all goes by to fast. The memories all seem like a different life but at the same time just like yesterday. Thinking back to my freshman year there are times were I wish I said yes to going out, or I wish I said yes to that late night adventure. Make the most out of the opportunitiesyou are given. Do well in school and work really hard, but also have fun. Take a risk, do something crazy, be way to tired in the morning to even function, but most importantlymake memories. Memories that you would’ve missed out on if you stayed in and hung out with Netflix, memories you will think back to years from now and think, “that was a great day.”

If you’re a freshman start this now, if you’re a sophomore you still have so much time. Start today. Juniors you too you can do it and seniors even you. You still have time to make up for it. So start now, start living today and say goodbye to your Netflix and bed for now and say hello to the adventure awaiting you. To The memoires yet to have been made, to the friends you have yet to meet.To the places you have yet to see. They are all waiting for you to close that laptop and start living.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
