Trump has now even achieved to turn the most composed of men in front of a camera into a stuttering mess. Obama, known for his charisma, horribly failed to spit back some fire at Donald Trump at a rally he held in Indiana in the White Houses attempt to "take down Trump."
Barack Obama said, "If we turn against each other based on division of race or religion. If-if-if-if-if-if-if-if-if-if-if we fall for, you know, a bunch of okie-doke, just because, you know it-it-it. You know, it-it-it-it-it-it sounds funny or the tweets are provocative."
Over the course of his presidency, President Barack Obama has often been referred to as the teleprompter president because he rarely speaks without one. This time though, maybe Obama was just a little out of his league. Perhaps he should have relied on his social media team that posts Vine videos for him to throw some shade at Trump over Twitter on Obama's account.
It’s unclear whether Obama’s teleprompter failed, or if he tried to wing it without one -- either way, it ended up looking very bad for the President. He could barely get a single thought out of his mouth without stumbling over his words, like Porky Pig. It’s a shame because the President of the United States should be able to stand in front of a small crowd and speak what’s on his mind without reading from a teleprompter -- unless there’s nothing much on his mind, perhaps. However, that’s never been Obama’s style, and when he tried to beat Trump at his own game, it backfired big time.
Trump, on the other hand, has proven he can speak off-the-cuff most of the time, and he doesn’t have any trouble calling out Obama (or anyone else) for relying on a teleprompter.
What prompted Obama to try and beat Trump at his own game though? It all started when Obama unabashedly attacked the legitimacy of Trump’s campaign and message by saying that world leaders were “rattled” by the GOP nominee’s rhetoric.
“They are not sure how seriously to take some of his pronouncements,” Obama said at a news conference in Japan on Thursday, according to a White House transcript. “They’re rattled by him, and for good reason.”
But Trump didn’t see any problem with that, and in fact seemed to like the idea that other nations were a little rattled. “The countries in our world, our beautiful world, have been absolutely abusing us and taking advantage of us,” Trump replied Thursday at a North Dakota press conference, ABC reported. “So if they’re rattled in a friendly way, we’re gonna have great relationships with these countries. But if they’re rattled in a friendly way, that’s a good thing.”
After Trump's response, which many thought was perfectly stated, prompted Obama to attempt to legitimize himself a little more after being attacked by Trump so many times. Unfortunately for Obama, he only helped Trump out.
“A lot of the proposals that he’s made display either ignorance of world affairs,” the president said about Trump, “or a cavalier attitude or an interest in getting tweets and headlines instead of actually thinking through what it is required to keep America safe and secure and prosperous, and what’s required to keep the world on an even keel.”
Right -- because Obama has done a fantastic job keeping the world on an even keel during the past seven years. The President is genuinely clueless when it comes to making a nation prosperous -- just look at the disaster of Obamacare.
