As Dorothy once said, "There's no place like home." Well, there really isn't anything like the feeling you get when you come home after having been away at school. Whether you do it each weekend, or once a year for the holidays, this feeling just cannot be topped.
Since being away, I have come to realize that there are so many things that make the feeling of coming home something that cannot be replicated anywhere else. Some of them include:
Flopping onto your own bed after having been gone for awhile.
The first taste of a much needed homecooked meal.
A hug from your Mom or Dad.
Your dog's thankful licks that you're finally back.
The sarcastic, yet loving remarks from your sibling(s) about how much weight you've definitely gained. (because dining hall food is so healthy right?)
The warmth and happiness that comes from a quiet night watching TV by the fire with your family.
and...
The immense love and constant security present within those brick walls.
So to close this article which is really just an appreciation post for my good ol' home, I would like to say that I've got some high key love for it. There definitely isn't any place better (not even Disney World).
