Berman
After graduating from UW-Madison with an English and film degree
and went on to be the executive producer of "Star
Trek: The Next Generation," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager."
2. Rich
Dahm
Attended UW in the late 1980s and began his professional career
writing for The Onion. He then became
the co-executive producer and head writer of "The Colbert Report."
3. Anders
Holm
A student and member of the swim team at Wisconsin who later became
one of the stars and creators of the Comedy Central show "Workaholics." He’s also guest starred on "The Mindy Project," "Modern Family," and "Arrested Development." He later came back to give the UW
Commencement speech two years ago.
4. Ben
Karlin
He attended UW and majored in Journalism and later became a writer
and executive producer of "The Daily Show
with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert
Report." He also worked as a script doctor for the movie "Ice Age" and was a reporter at the 1992
Summer Olympics in Barcelona.
5. Steve
Marmel
Before becoming the TV writer and producer for "The Fairly OddParents," "Danny Phantom" and "Family Guy," Steve Marmel was a journalism major at Wisconsin. He
also created the Disney Channel show Sonny
with a Chance.
6. Meinhardt
Frank Raabe
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from UW
and was later a munchkin in "The Wizard of
Oz." Before dying in 2010, he was the last living munchkin actor. He was the
munchkin that said, “I thoroughly examined her
and she's not only merely dead, she's really, most sincerely dead!”
7. Donald
Goerke
After receiving his MBA
from Wisconsin, Donald Goerke went on to invent one of our childhood favorites:
SpaghettiO’s.
8. William
Harley
The co-founder of Harley Davidson Motor Company graduated from
Wisconsin with a mechanical engineering degree.
9. Chris
Bangle
Received both a Bachelor’s
of Science degree and his Masters in industrial design at UW and went on to
become an American Automobile Designer. Aside from designing for MINI and
Rolls-Royce, he’s mainly knowing for his career as Chief of Design at BMW.
10. Michael Dhuey
This electrical and computer engineer graduated from
UW in 1980 and was the co-inventor of the Macintosh II computer and developed
the original hardware for the iPod in 2001.
11. Adam Horowitz & Eddy Kitsis
These two communication arts majors graduated in 1993
and eventually became executive producers and writers for TV shows such as "Lost" and "One Tree Hill."
