"You're close minded."

"You have no tolerance."

"You are a homophobe."

"You are judgmental."

As a Christian, most likely these words have become numb to you. It seems that the homosexual community is under the impression that Christians absolutely despise them as people. If you are a homosexual and have felt hurt by the Christian community, I'm here as a Christian to say that we don't hate you. In fact, we love you.

As this homosexuality movement continues to increase with gay marriage becoming legal nationwide, it is important to stand our ground as Christians, but continue to spread love.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34

God calls us to love each other. He makes loving each other so important that out of everything in the Bible, loving each other is the second greatest commandment. As Christians, it is our duty to, most importantly, love God with everything we are and then express that love for Him by loving others as He has loved us. As Christians, if we are under the impression that the way God loves is by saying, "Oh, I love everyone except for the homosexuals," then we are way out of line.

Judging and hating the homosexual community is where some Christians are out of line. However, that does not let homosexuals off the hook.

This is where some homosexuals are out of line. It is hypocritical to force someone to support your view. Why do I have to support your view on marriage, when you don't support mine? That seems to be a question that is always avoided when asked of the homosexual community. The Christian view on practicing homosexuality should be that it is wrong. God created marriage with the intent of it representing one's relationship with him. We are the bride and Christ is the groom. If we try to change that, it destroys the representation that God put into place.

"...for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready..." Revelation 19:7-9

If you are homosexual, I, as a Christian, want you to know that I support you, but I don't support your actions. I struggle with sin, too. Just because my sin is different than yours, it doesn't mean that I am any better or worse than you. I will not judge you and I will not let people hurt you. However, I will stand my ground and stand for what I believe in. My mind is not open, but my heart is. I hope you know that you are loved, prayed for, and were died for 2,000 years ago by a Savior who loves you and wants a relationship with you.
