Not Doing Anything for Spring Break? Join the Club.

Spring Break as we know is a crucial week off of all things school related and is the last break we have until summer. It's no secret that college students spend their spring break partying nonstop in a paradise setting for a week straight, trying to forget that it's only one week till heading back to reality. Plans for this week of fun have circulated since the beginning of the school year and the anticipation has not stopped since we got back from winter break.

However not all college students have extravagant plans for spring break, some of us just like to return home to our friends and families to spend time with them for a week. That is what my plans are for this upcoming spring break and I couldn't be more excited. However, I do feel like everyone should experience an unreal spring break in some fascinating setting at least once in their life.

For those of you who are in my shoes, I know it will be tortuous seeing your college friends having an amazing time on a beach in Mexico over spring break, but try to enjoy yourself while back home! After all, it still is a break from school. Here are a few tips I have for enjoying your spring break at home.

1. Spend time with your old friends.

I know this is the most obvious thing everyone does when they return home from school, but it never gets old seeing your old friends after not seeing them for awhile. Think about it this way: if you went somewhere fun for spring break without returning home, it would prolong the amount of time until you see your friends and family again. If you live somewhere far and don't have the opportunity to return home as often as others, then it could be quite a long time without seeing friends or family if you go away for spring break.

2. Eat homemade meals and old restaurants nearby.

I know every college student looks forward to their parents homemade meals when they return home from school, and this is something you could take advantage of if you return home for spring break. Also, returning to old stomping grounds that you haven't eaten at in awhile is always fun too.

3. Enjoy being with family.

Being away from family for college really makes you miss the old days of living at home and spending every waking minute together with the people who have been by your side since day one, literally. I personally cannot wait to go home and just do nothing with my family. College really makes these trips back home extremely worthwhile.

So do not fret if you aren't going anywhere cool or exciting for spring break. You are not alone. Several of us will be experiencing the same break of returning home for a week. Try to make the most of your time being back where it all began.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
