This is the ultimate vocabulary comparison for the North versus the South. While one might know certain words as it relates to "their neck of the woods", the same word is usually unheard of on the opposite spectrum. Side note: accents can vary from hillbilly twang to Jersey Shore.
1. Y'all
South: our version of 'you guys'
North: a mocking tool to always use against the South to make us feel like illiterate hicks
2. Wicked
South: We literally have no idea what it means or what context to use it in unless we've been to Boston.
North: Used in Boston to heighten an expression as an adjective (ex. That was wicked awesome) or usually as a noun to replace "cool" (ex. Her car is wicked).
South: Does not mean what it says; basically is used to tell a person to "deal with it'" or "get over it" in a sassy manner.
North: Someone actually has sympathy for you, which is unheard of in the South.
