I understand that is January 20th as I write this "New Year, New Me" article. Trust me, I get that I am late to that bandwagon also kinda like I am late to most things. So if that small facts bothers you in any way, I apologize but what can you do?
I hate the concept of "new year, new me". I think it is utterly pointless. Everyone makes a ton of resolutions or changes they would like to make in their life, stick with it until probably this date, and then stop doing what they think would make them a new and improve person.
I believe in improving and becoming a better person all the time. I believe that every moment you have in life is a time for growth and reflection. I think that we should all reevaluate our need for new years resolutions and work on just being a better person everyday.
So here goes a couple of things that I am going to work on given my new non-"new year" resolutions:
1. Smile more often
I don't smile, in my opinion, enough. Plus there are a plethora of studies that say if you smile more than you are more likely to be happier even if you don't feel so happy at that time.
2. Go to the gym more
I love working out but man oh man... I am very lazy and never want to actually go to the gym. I have decided to be more confident in myself, I need to start going to the gym and take more control of things that I know I can control. Plus, I should really learn how some of those machines work right?
3. Be more adventurous
Life is all about taking risks and I personally feel as though I should take more risks. You'll never know what you are missing until you try it as well as the fact that you never regret the things you have done normally but more likely regret the things you didn't do.
4. Drink more water
I mean come on... this is pretty self explanatory on why any human should.
