Well, I am twenty-three years old and thanks to a couple of my life mentors I have become well versed in wine. I as many started with the stuff that tasted like fruit juice (It still tastes good, just don't tell anyone I said that.) and have evolved to the stuff that you see commercials for and stuff that people drink in movies but could never truly bring yourself to drink. Wine, however, does relate to life in a couple of ways. It shares a lot of similarities to career fields.
1. Communications - Moscato
Moscato is one of the sweetest wines you will ever drink. This wine is rather fruity and sweet. If I had to pick a major for wine, I would definitely pick the communications and public relations fields. You've got to be sweet as can be to be out there and constantly communicating with people.
2. Science Majors - Pinot Grigio
Many science majors are very focused on fitness and their health. Props to all of you. My personal pick would be a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. A more healthy option which would suit any major from Dietetics to Exercise Science and Movement.
3. Art Majors - Riesling
Art majors are quite versatile. Many declare a major in a specific area of art but they are capable of any area of discipline. I think the best wine for an art major would be a Riesling. Riesling can range all the way from tasting like a rock up to sweeter than a Moscato.
4. Political Science - Cabernet Sauvignon
Oh, Poli-Sci. You are a tried and true group of individuals. You all have such strong opinions on your ideas and base much research on history. Like history, wine ages for many years depending on the kind. I feel like you all would be a nice Cabernet Sauvignon. Dry, like your humor with a slight fruit undertone to remind people you're still sweet.
5. Animal Sciences - Sweet Red
You are some of the most compassionate people in your field. You want to spend time taking care of animals. Your heart is so big and you are so sweet. However, you do have a very strong stomach due to circumstances of your career field. You all would be more of a Sweet Red but not a Red Moscato. Sweet, but not too potent.
6. Business - Champagne
Much of your time will be spent relishing in your success of the next business deal you make. You often will be taking chances to celebrate each accomplishment you make. I think you'd be champagne instead of a wine. Between making the green and closing the next big deal, you have little time to celebrate so you need to make the most of it.
7. Language - Malbec
Oh, my dear language major friends. We come from depths of history and culture. As languages change, so do wines. We are like Malbec. We are strong in the history of the language we study and the culture surrounding it. It also has traveled across countries for its development.
8. Computer Science - Merlot
Computer Science is an extremely difficult career field. There are a lot of numbers and programming in order to be successful in this field. If this degree had a wine it would probably be something dry. I would have to go with a Merlot. Potent and to the point.
9. Fashion - The house blend
Well this degree is super interesting. Fashion majors are often the most well dressed people on campus whether it be clothes for relaxation or just daily wear. They some how always manage to look fashion forward. Props to all of you. Honestly, they can drink about any wine and have it correlate to their degree. They are all so different in what they do that it doesn't really have a specific wine I could pick for it.
There are my top nine major fields as wines. I know wine is a foreign topic to many but fear not! I will do my best to educate you with this comparison to degree fields for starters.
