If you watched the season finale of the bachelor, you know that bachelor Nick Viall, proposed to Canada native Vanessa Grimaldi over southern girl Raven Gates. I was certainly thrown by the decision, as were most of the people watching. Although Vanessa was certainly a front runner the whole season, by the time the final few episodes aired, I was sure he was going to propose to Raven, and believe that he should’ve. Before I go into why I believe that this was the best decision, I know that what matters most is that Nick and Vanessa are happy together. This article is just for fun, since this season of the show has been beyond addicting and controversial. I am also aware of the fact that many aspects of the show are very edited/scripted, and is purely for entertainment.

1. Their chemistry is undeniable

Whenever Nick and Raven were together, there was no tension between them. They couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces, yet they were still able to have serious conversation when needed. Their chemistry is the kind that can’t be faked, even on a show like “The Bachelor”

2. Raven really opened up to Nick

We found out right from the beginning how closed off Raven was and how hard it was for her to whole heartedly trust someone. Raven was able to tell Nick anything and he was able to comfort her. Vanessa still had trouble opening up to Nick by the end of the season

3. Raven was able to tell Nick she loved him

Another thing that we learned about Raven was that she never said “I love you” to anyone. Even a guy that she dated for more than two years, she was unable to say those three words and eight letters to. We saw Raven struggle with putting her heart in the open like that, but she said it and her happiness when she said it was apparent on both of their faces.

4. They live in the same country

This one is pretty obvious. Raven and Nick both live in the United States, while Vanessa lives in Canada. One of the biggest conflicts between Nick and Vanessa was where they would live because Vanessa made it clear she was unwilling to move and Nick clearly did not want to live in Montreal. With Raven all they would need to decide is which state they would live in, and not which country.

5. Raven knew what she wanted

Raven had no doubts about her feelings and that she was ready to be engaged. Vanessa still had doubts when she was walking into her proposal. Being that this was Nick’s FOURTH TIME being on a Bachelor franchise show, you’d think that he would take that into account, since he was heart broken previously. He should’ve made sure whoever he was with was on the same page as him, and Vanessa wasn’t.

6. Raven and his family got along beautifully

Nick’s little sister Bella’s face lit up when he mentioned Raven. The rest of Nick’s family loved Raven as well and her happiness filled the room. Although his family like Vanessa as well, you can see his family was worried as they talked to her.

Now onto The Bachelorette!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
