The reveal of ABC’s newest Bachelor, Nick Viall, was possibly the most controversial choice... ever. The 35-year-old businessman/Bachelor star from Wisconsin will finally be the star of the show in the next season of "The Bachelor."
While pretty much everyone was shocked that the choice was not either Luke or Chase, and most people felt cheated that the franchise didn’t follow their “choose the third or fourth or fifth (or sixth if we’re desperate) runner-up” pattern, there is one person who can’t get cheated: Nick.
We hated him in Andy’s season.
When he thought he was in love with Andi and then was very awkward and confrontational on the "Men Tell All" episode. Then again, Andi wrote a book that had him in it, so… all is fair in love and war and completely public humiliation?
And ultimately, he was the runner-up to Josh Murray.
We were mad at him during Kaitlyn’s season.
When he came on mid-season and completely messed up the entire ~vibe~ of the whole show. Everyone hated him, and it wasn’t like he was on there for only a week. Runner-up part two.
He grew on us this past season in Bachelor in Paradise...
...when he showed that he had become a much more mature person and was truly looking for love. He started dating Amanda, who literally everyone loves. And we were all so happy.
Enter Josh Murray. Stealing Nick’s girlfriend for the second time. On national television. And he wasn’t exactly nice about it.
Then Nick started dating Jen, which seemed like a great pairing, and then Nick said that something just didn’t feel right and left paradise alone.
And so now we’re here and we anxiously await to see if this poor guy, who has been officially labeled “The Runner-Up” (no, really, that’s what they put under his name where most people have their job description) will finally find love on The Bachelor.
