As another year comes to a close, there is nothing more people enjoy than sitting back with a glass of champagne to reflect on all the good events during the year. However, 12 months is a long time-frame, and after a few glasses of bubbly, it might be hard to recall your favorite events from the year. Here is a list of a few things you can do throughout this year to keep your New Years resolutions and memories.
1. Start a journal
It is easy to start a journal, but many have a hard time following through with the idea. There is no need to write in it everyday, so to compromise, when something special happens to you this year, write it down, and when you read it at the end of the year, you can re-live the experience
2. Make a new snapchat
But don't use it. Write down the username and password of your new snapchat and tuck it away in a place that you will remember at the end of the year. Send snapchats to that account to document your year. At the end of the year, log into the snapchat and look through all the fun pictures you have taken that year.
3. Mason jar idea
There have been a few renditions of writing things down and putting them in a mason jar to read at the end of the year. You could write down one good memory from every month, or you could jot down date ideas, another idea is to write positive things about yourself. Whatever you write, you will have a great time looking through them at the end of the year.
4. Write a letter to your future self
This website allows you to write yourself an email and even attach a picture, and it will be delivered to your inbox at a date of your choice. You can send monthly emails to keep yourself on track of your new years resolutions, or write one email to read at the end of the year.
5. Make yearly predictions
Write down all the things that you hope will happen this year. Even if they are unrealistic, write them down. You will either have a good laugh or a feeling of self-accomplishment at the end of the year when you read through your predictions. Make sure to hide your predictions in a good spot so you won't be tempted to peek at them early, but won't forget where you placed them.
I hope you all had a fun and safe New Years and have a happy 2016!
