We are all finally back on the Domain, and are eager to start our classes, and get back into the swing of things. The weather is also taking some getting use to, in comparison to last semester. This winter season calls for warm comfort food to make us feel more at home, and happy on the inside. Check out these simple, microwavable, winter meals for some ideas!

Snack on some applesauce

Combine three medium-sized, diced, peeled Fuji apples, 1/4 cup water, 2 teaspoons sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the covered mixture for roughly 8 minutes, or until the apples are soft. Smash the apples with a fork until they are of an apple sauce consistency. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top for a nice decoration, and enjoy!

Bake a potato

Grab a regular, Russet potato and some toppings like butter, cheese, chives, sour cream, bacon bits, and picante sauce from the Pig. Grab a small container of olive oil too. Cover your potato with olive oil, and place it in the microwave (uncovered) for approximately 13 minutes, or until it is tender, and easily cut into with a knife. Once your potato is done, you can top it off however you like!

"Fry" some bacon

Grab six slices of bacon and tuck them in a bed of paper towels - placing two sheets on top and two sheets below the bacon. Microwave on a plate for roughly 5 minutes, or until cooked. Enjoy the taste and the smell of fresh bacon in no time with the easy trick!

Warm your syrup for your toasted waffles

Place your syrup in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the syrup in 15-second intervals, and check in between each to make sure it is the proper consistency. Use Aunt Jemima's syrup with any flavored Kashi waffle for the perfect breakfast.

Melt some chocolate for a fondue night

Pick out your favorite flavor of chocolate - white, milk, dark, semisweet, etc. Cut up the block of chocolate, or pour the chips into a microwave-safe bowl. Add butter, if needed, and microwave the chocolate in 30-second intervals. Stir in between each interval, making sure that the chocolate is smooth and silky. Dip potato chips, pretzels, berries, marshmallows, cookies (Oreos), bananas, popcorn, or even candied fruit into your chocolate - the options are endless.

There are many ways to use your microwave this winter season. Consider buying an indoor s'mores maker for those especially chilly nights with your friends. Enjoy!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
