A New Pokemon Go Fan... Maybe

A New Pokemon Go Fan... Maybe
The Verge

When the Pokémon GO! phase started I was not a fan. You can ask anyone, I actually talked badly about the game because I had it for about ten minutes and did not like what I saw - or what I was even doing.

Recently, as in a week ago, I downloaded the game. Turns out it is not that bad. I guess it's fun when you are bored - minus the fact that I never walk around and play it. I guess I am a bad team player when it comes to the walking around factor of Pokémon. I don't like that aspect.

The Pokémon I have caught have been in my house, or when I leave the house to go to work or the store, or etc. I am a lazy Pokémon-er. But, that does not despite the fact that I actually like it when I do play it. Catching the Pokémon is the fun part, catching them and actually finding all the rare and cool ones are the fun part. Going by Pokemon stops and getting free Pokeballs is the fun part. Waiting for the eggs to hatch is not the fun part. You have to walk either 5KM or 2KM and neither of those I do on a daily basis. The only time I walk is when school is in session - and that's only on campus and at work. So, that aspect, I could definitely care less about. The excessive walking, I could totally care less about.

But, collecting all those cool Pokémonis my favorite part. I have yet to battle anyone - or go any further than level eight / having one hundred and something Pokémon in my stash. Waiting for all nine of my eggs to hatch... eventually.

Overall, I can truly say I cannot hate on the game anymore. I was not going to play it, but it does get addicting. I wish the world was a lot better than it seems when it came to outside fun - but, alas, I am twenty-two and I know crazy people are out there and I am not battling with them. I will only ever play this game when I am out and about and in a store or going to school or at work. I don't think it works for walking around in the middle or at the end of the day.

I can officially say I hated the idea of the game, but once you get the hang of it - it's pretty damn cool. All and all, after everything that has happened in the media, they should think about a better way for all of this. The walking part of the game was a good idea, but too many murders, robbing's, deaths and everything in between is happening to this kids. I believe they should look into a better way of doing that. Especially when you have to look at your phone the entire time you are playing the game, it makes it hard to not see your surroundings.

Update a Few Weeks Later...

Although, I am still playing the game I have started to forget to open it. Before when I would always open the app no matter where I was and now I forget it is on my phone. It takes up a ton of space and as much as I do love it - I may delete it soon (who knows). The app is still fun, but just not as fun as it used to be before. Maybe the hype is wearing off?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
