With an abundance of new laws and changes (not only across our country but around our world), it seems that the people of this Earth become more and more divided. As this happens it becomes easier to fall into the trap of judgment and stereotyping. Fortunately, there are still great deeds being done all the time, providing hope for the future of our world. Following is an awareness poem to remind those of why we were raised not to throw stones in glass houses. Enjoy!
A New Outlook On A Modern World
In a modern world, it's not unusual to see a trans person in Victoria's Secret purchasing panties, or better yet an eight-year-old girl looking for herself a thong, and not to mention the old timer judging them saying that they're wrong.
The transgender is just living what they choose and the young girl is living what she sees. Dirty money, drugs, and sex all over her tv. Then the lady turned to judge me, but instead I responded with the things that I see.
Alas, old lady, you are living in the past. Times change, but still I'll admit they're moving too fast.
The trans then yells "get with the times" as the young girl inches closer to get in line and I continue to write these verses to pass the time, all while thinking of the direction of our world. Judgement, destruction, and other things that I hurl, like stabbings and shootings and children being raped or mass deforestation causing the extinction of our apes.
Like Shakespeare, this is tragic but it's the world we've created and as a millennial who's seen both sides, I hate it. If only we could turn back the clocks or make the world stop, maybe people could-could realize the simple things that we've got. Things like each other, our families, and our peace of mind, not young kids with guns throwing up gang signs
These are the just my observations, the things that I see and I know somebody out there reading this will probably still disagree. All I ask is that you don't judge me. At least not before you take a look at yourself, but it seems nobody wants to do that, they claim it's bad for their health.
Didn't the Lord say know thyself?
Well I know me personally and often I'm even ashamed, but we've all got different ways to ease the pain, maybe even a little inhumane. Like North Korea but that's their country they do what they do, and for Americans what has your government really done for you?
The answer may be more bad than good, it's all about perspective, but why can't we all in harmony? seems like such a hard method. So please don't think divided or ask me why I care, because I believe this world is big enough for all of us to share but selfishness and greed are already traits of humanity, so the least you can do is simply observe and not judge what you see.
It could even be me.
