College Life, According To Schmidt From 'New Girl'

A week in the life of a college student explained by Schmidt GIFs.

College Life, According To Schmidt From 'New Girl'

For all my fellow "New Girl" lovers, I think we can all agree that nothing compares to Schmidt's quirky, unpredictable personality on the show. From fashion tips to love lives, Schmidt always has an opinion and is never afraid to voice it in unique ways. As a typical procrastination technique, I've decided to use my A1 binge-watching skills and relate them to the college lifestyle. Here's a look at the typical week of a college student accompanied by some quality GIFs of our favorite "New Girl" character, Schmidt.

Waking up and realizing it's Monday and you haven't done your homework.

What kind of professor makes an assignment due on Sunday at midnight and actually expects students to submit it in on time?

All your professors schedule exams or papers due on the same day.

It's as if they all congregate together and diabolically plan how to make every student's schedule a living hell.

And as if things couldn't get any worse, the high school students come to tour and take over the dining halls.

I just want to eat in peace. Not to mention the tease of decently good food on tour days.

Your friends try to console you while you complain about the amount of work you've procrastinated on.

No one understands the pain of finally being forced to do your work, no matter how universal a problem it is.

Your parents call to check in and ask how the semester is going.

It's as if you can feel the disappointed glare through the phone.

You hit that Wednesday hump and you have to give yourself a pep talk to make it through the week.

You're halfway there, but you still need that extra push to keep going.

When you check the price tag on practically anything.

We're all guilty of online shopping during lectures, but sometimes the sting of expensive items is worse than the boring PowerPoint in class.

On the bright side, you find out you passed that exam you didn't study for at all.

There's really no better feeling in the world.

You made it to Thursday!

Whether you go out on a "Thirsty Thursday" or not, it's still one step closer to the end of the week and that is a reason to be happy.

When it's finally the weekend.

TGIF! Am I right?

You see your crush across the dance floor.

And your friends obnoxiously try to push you to talk to them.

But you have to help your friend who is talking to the creepy frat boy.

Hey, we're all guilty of wearing drunk goggles at some point.

You order drunk pizza.

This is inevitably the most anticipated part of the night and the best part of going out.

When you interrogate your friends about last night.

There's nothing better than learning about all your friend's triumphs and regrets of a wild night.

But then you hear about some of the stuff you did last night...

Oops?

Unfortunately, the weekend has gone too fast and you realize it's Sunday already.

Honestly, where did the weekend go?

And the cycle starts all over again.

Back on that school grind.

But, even though life can get tough sometimes, just put on your kimono and show college who's boss!

Because let's face it...

Whenever you're feeling down and defeated, just channel your inner-Schmidt and conquer each week as it comes.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
