New Experiences Can Be A Fun Time

As you begin to grow older, there are new things that you are going to want to do but you are nervous about. Right now, some of us are young adults or kids, depending on the year that you are born in, and while it is going to be different for everyone, it is always fun to have new experiences. When you are first trying out new experiences, they can be scary and something that you do not want to try. But from experience in trying new things, you are never going to know if something is fun unless you are able to experience it. When you are still in high school, and even middle school, there are different things that you are able to experience while being at school and even after school. During this time, you can do things such as club sports, high school sports or any other extracurricular activities that you may be interested in or want to try. Although it may be hard for you to try something new and say that you do not like it, you need to wait until you try that activity again before making the decision of not liking it.

The point of trying something new is to experience it for the first time and to see if it is a hobby or skill that you want to keep working at. As you keep trying new experiences, you are able to broaden your horizons and keep an open mind on things you may try you have never heard of before. Doing this, you will meet new people who may have the same interest as you and you never know, you could make life long friends. Although college is different than high school and middle school, some things still stay the same in the aspect of trying new experiences.

One new experience that you will have as you get older is moving away from home and being on your own for the first time. This is important for some people and can be scary because it may be your first time away from home. But remember this is a new experience and you can never know you like it until you try it for a couple of weeks. Adjusting to college is a whole new experience because you are on your own for your academic journey in the field of study you want to pursue, and without parents or anyone really telling you when to actually sit down and do your work. This is a good way for people learn about being independent, and even though it may be tricky, we cannot live on our parents couches the rest of our lives. As you go through college, new experiences will pop up around the corner at you just asking you to try it. One way that may happen is by getting involved with a club or group you may never of thought you would of been part of and that might of not interested you at first. With that being said, you are always going to experience new experiences all throughout life and need to be able to learn about how they can actually be fun.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
