Don’t want to spend a ton of money on your wardrobe? You don’t have too! I have spent very little money on beautiful clothes. Some of my favorite outfits that I get the most compliments on, cost under 20 bucks! And in case you were thinking the clothes are maybe cheesy or cheap — nope, this is totally not the case.
Let's face it, your wardrobe budget may not be too high and that's okay. You can find nice, quality clothes that won't leave a hole in your pockets. I have bought a lot of nice clothes that weren't expensive, but the quality was awesome.
I'm sharing my three secret tips to buy nice clothes that are not too pricey!
Stick to a brand you love. Stick to a brand that will never let you down. Meaning, check the label of the clothing. This will be your go-to label at every store you go to. Sometimes when I am in certain stores I go to the same section because I know the particular brand I love will always have something I like for a price that is right for me. I like the way the brand fits me, the colors, how the fabric feels, and the style. My favorite brands reflect my style and I have my go-to brands at every single store.
Check the fabric. Make sure the fabric is a nice quality. You’ll be able to tell by touching the fabric. The fabric should make you fingers sing! No matter if its cotton, nylon or silk check it to make sure you like the way it feels on your skin. You are going to be the one wearing it, so make sure its a nice fabric of your preference.
Thrifting. This is one of my favorite ways to shop. There are so many gems at a thrift store. I suggest grabbing the items that catch your eye only. Thrifting is a good way to buy items you'll never see in the store, or what I'll call "vintage pieces." These are statement pieces that will last for years to come. Thrift stores also has nice "name brand labels." You can find these nice brands for half of the original cost than the regular department stores.
A few things to keep in mine while shopping at the thrift store is to check the item for holes or a funny smell. The last thing you want to do is go home and find a hole under the arm of your new shirt or the smell of someone else's stinge. Next, buy only your size. I cant tell you how many times I have purchased things that were too large or too small because I loved it so much. Loving the outfit does not mean you're going to like the way it looks on you (I had to learn the hard way). Lastly, check all the items you have and make sure you absolutely love them. There is usually no return policy when you thrift, so make sure you love what you have. I don't buy anything from the thrift store that I don't love.
