New To Netflix This Winter

With Thanksgiving break upon us and winter break quickly approaching, this is the perfect time to watch new Netflix titles. Here are some of the highlight shows and movies that will be added to the streaming service this winter. But, with new additions, some content will also have to leave the service. These titles are also listed below.

Coming to Netflix in December and January

1. "Fuller House" - Season 2

The Netflix hit "Fuller House", a continuation of the 1990s TV show, is coming back in December. This season is sure to have just as many laughs, cries and antics as the first season.

2. "Chasing Cameron" - Season 1

This series will follow Vine star Cameron Dallas and his new experiences in fame. It will premiere December 27th.

3. "A Series of Unfortunate Events" - Season 1

This new series will be based on the novels by Lemony Snicket and the 2004 movie. I am personally very excited to relive my childhood love of these stories this winter. The trailer for the show is here.

4. "Reggie Watts: Spatial"

On December 6th Netflix will be releasing "Spatial", a stand-up comedy show by Reggie Watts. The streaming service has been adding many comedy specials to their library. They will also be adding shows by Micheal Che Matters and Gabriel Iglesias soon.

5. "Captive"

With "Making a Murderer" being a massive success last year, Netflix is adding "Captive" to their lineup. This docu-series will follow true hostage situations that have happened around the world and examine them. The trailer is here.

6. "The Jungle Book"

On November 30th, Netflix will be adding the 2016 film "The Jungle Book" to their streaming service. I saw this movie in theaters and it was beautiful, I highly suggest watching it once it is available.

7. "Blue Jay"

"Blue Jay" is a Netflix film starring Sarah Paulson and Mark Duplass. This stories follows two high school sweethearts who reconnect in adulthood. It is unique in that it is black-and-white and only has the two characters in the whole movie.

Leaving Netflix

1. All series from DIY Network, Cooking Channel, HGTV, Travel Channel and the Food Network will be leaving in January. Scripps Network, which owns all these channels, have decided to pull their shows from the streaming service. It is speculated that they might be creating a streaming service of their own for their series.

2. "Stuck in Love"

"Stuck in Love" is my favorite romantic comedy and I am so sad to be seeing it leave Netflix this winter. I highly suggest watching this movie before it is too late.

3. "Courage the Cowardly Dog"

"Courage the Cowardly Dog" is a classic cartoon series that many of us remember from our childhoods. It will be leaving Netflix this month so watch it over Thanksgiving break.

4. There is speculation of "Bones" leaving in December. This beloved series has had many rumors that it might be taken off of Netflix, but nothing is confirmed.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
