"Netflix is life."

Netflix Nightmare

One starry night I came home from work and only wanted to relax. I decided to make a cup of steaming coffee and switched my tablet on to watch some Netflix when all of a sudden my whole world went blank. Netflix was not working. Naturally, I went ballistic like any other young soul would do. What the hell was I supposed to do now? Netflix is life.

Streaming services went kaput at around 3:30 p.m on a Saturday. There were 7,000 posts on social media about all the complaints from folks about their lack of binge-watching abilities. On twitter Netflix tweeted out at 3:25 p.m Eastern time that they were aware of all the issues and that they are all working quickly to resolve the problem. There had not been any updates about it for more than two hours. Everyone turned to twitter for some entertainment where all the Netflix watchers around the world voiced their frustrations.

I didn’t realize how obsessed the entire world was with Netflix. I did not realize Netflix was such a big thing with most people today. Hell, I didn’t even really know how obsessed I got with this either until now. It is just amazing how one little thing can have such a big impact on the world and how technology is constantly evolving.

My opinion on this matter is quite simple really. I love this new way of being able to binge watch my favorite shows and movies! It is so easy and pretty inexpensive! The only problem I have with Netflix is having a desire to watch one particular show or movie and not being able to find it. It’s as if the shows/movies you want to watch they never have and of course the ones you do not think of watching, they've got. They do however, have many selections to choose from and Netflix does change out shows and movies every couple of months and constantly add new ones. Also, Netflix is almost always pretty good about coming up with a fast solution for a problem.

So I guess what I am trying to say here is that there is no reason to go ballistic and running around like a chicken without a head. There is plenty to do! Read your favorite book if it is a rainy day or go to Redbox and have a little get together with a couple of friends with popcorn and just pop in a good movie. If it is nice out, take a little walk around the house instead of being cooped up inside all the time. All I am saying is that there are plenty of things to do and I think we forget that the world we live in today, people are always on their phones or any other technological device that we do not get enough fresh air and exercise as we should. It is okay if something like this ever happens to any of you again and you are experiencing symptoms like anger, frustration, sadness and depression. Just take a deep breath and go out if weather permits. If not, then stay in and read, paint or draw something, hell maybe you can even write a story of some kind because why not! The point is to just relax, take a sip of your steaming cup of coffee, and be patient because Netflix will be back up in no time.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
