Dear Netflix,
You have become more than just an app that sits on the screen of my tablet. You are more than just a website that allows me to watch movies and TV shows anytime I want. You have become my friend. We share a love for movies, and you do not judge me when I spend an entire day binge watching a season of House M.D. (currently my obsession). Even though I have watched for five hours straight, you understand that I want to continue watching so you just roll the next episode—no questions asked. You even care enough to check in every now and again to see if I am still watching or if maybe I fell asleep. Thank you for looking out, but more times than not I am still watching.
Sure you may not have the newest movies, and I am still waiting for you to upload the next season of Vampire Diaries. But don’t fret because nobody’s perfect. I understand that these things take time. You never annoy me with commercial as others have, so I don’t mind waiting for new content.
With all that being said, I need to address something of serious concern. So with the school year in full swing and having a job now, I am noticing I have been putting more hours into studying and work, and that is taking away from our relationship. Unfortunately, I think it will only get worse as I get more into the semester. Now, this is not to say that I will never finish that season of House, but for now we will just have to take a break. Also, with it being September, the new fall line-up will soon be starting. This means that How to Get Away with Murder is starting along with all the new shows beginning their first season on television. This doesn’t mean that I care about you any less, but I just have to take some time to see my new shows and well actually try to find time for an actual social life.
In all honesty, if I could, I would spend my days watching your wide variety of movies, TV shows, and documentaries while googling actors and actresses when I recognize them on the various cinematic media. It is one of my favorite things to do with my time. In a perfect world, I would get paid for it; however, we are not that lucky. So, I will continue to study to one day get a real paying job that I can make a career. Then we will be spending our days watching movies and grading papers. Until then, just bear with me while I get through this crazy thing called college. Thank you for understanding and for always being there for me.
Love,
Emilie
P. S. I am still waiting for you to add Pretty Woman and the complete series of The Golden Girls.
