I think we all can agree that Netflix has been our best friend during this quarantine and most of us have been trying to figure out if there is anything left to watch! I know that for a second, I considered whether or not I have watched everything on Netflix! For those of you looking for some new ideas, these are some of the movies I have been watching during this quarantine (there is a mix of so many different genres).
1. "Step Brothers"
Two grown men being forced to not only live under the same roof...but in the same ROOM! Brennan and Dale's parents get married and all of a sudden they have a new roommate and brother to get used to. This is a recipe for disaster with these two and this comedy shows exactly how it all unfolds in this household!
2. "A Haunted House"
This is a parody comdey horror film about a couple who takes the next step and move in together. Come to find out...they are not alone in their house. These characters do the exact opposite of what we see in "typcial horror movies". We see the lengths they will go to dismiss this spirit from their home before it destroys their relationship, their home, and most importantly, their sex life.
3. "Burlesque"
This is a classic. If you have seen this, you need to watch it again! If you have not, you are in for a treat. A small town girl (Christina Aguilara) moves to L.A. to achieve her dreams of being a singer and stumbles upon a career she had no idea was in store for her. She finds home in a Burlesque Longue run by a former dancer (Cher) and is in for the journey of a lifetime!
4. "Only Mine"
This thriller is based on a mind-blowing story. After dating a charming cop who turns into an obsessive stalker, this girl has to save herself from his deadly ways. Someone who had the whole town charmed preyed on the heart of a naive young girl. Her strength burst through in ways that even he could not predict.
5. "Pretty Little Stalker"
Another thriller in the mix! A popular self-help writer seems to have everything she could ever want. She has a loving husband and son, a beautiful home, and a successful career. However, this is all threatened when she and her family became the targets of a troubled girl. How far will she go to ensure this writer has nothing left?
6. "21 and Over"
Whenever any college students dreams of their 21st birthday, they dream of having one that is this INSANE. High school friends meet up for one of their 21st birthdays. Although they left with the best intentions, we see the night turn from "drunk" to "the drunkest". This comedy shows us the night that these three buddies have, from the bar fights to greek row these boys had one of the longest nights of their lives.
"A Bad Moms Christmas"
This comedy follows three under-appreciated and overworked moms who attempt to rebel or challenege the expecations that are set for them. While trying to create the best holidays for their families, now their mothers have arrived. We see how the holidays destroy the relationships they have with their mothers, then build that relationship into a stronger one.
8. "A Cinderalla Story"
Another classic! I always find myself rewatching this movie every once and a while because it is so good! The struggles of fitting in in high school are hard enough without the help of your ungrateful stepmother and sisters. Sam's father and best friend passed away and these are the people she was left with. This movie shows Sam finally becoming her own person and landing the guy of her dreams.
9. "Spenser Confidential"
This is a new movie on Netflix about an ex-cop and ex-con who just finished serving his prison sentence. Upon leaving prison he must face his old boxing coach and his ex-girlfriend. This leads him into getting involved with uncovering a conspiracy that has led to the death of two cops.
"The Perks of Being a Wallflower"
This movie is based on a popular novel and is a classic coming-of-age film. We see the highs and lows of growing up and the real life issues that come of it. We see the world that the main character (Charlie) experiences. This movie gives us a look at different issues any of us could go through as well as those who could be our support system.
