Everyone has those days where you just want to spend all day in pajamas while eating your weight in junk food; or you have those days when you feel so sick you physically cannot bring yourself to get out of bed to shower. These are the days when Netflix becomes your best friend. Here are a couple of movies that are perfect for all your lazy days and sick days.
1. Begin Again
This is the perfect movie for anyone who has a love for music. The movie follows a songwriter, Gretta James, (played by Keira Knightly) on her journey as she gets discovered in a bar by Dan Mulligan, (played by Mark Ruffalo) who is struggling to handle being a music producer and a father to his teenage daughter, Violet (played by Hailee Steinfeld.) James Cordon and Adam Levine also star in this movie as Gretta's best friend who also enjoys singing, and Gretta's ex-boyfriend who is a successful superstar.
2. Sixteen Candles
An oldie but a goodie, (at least to most.) Sixteen Candles came out in 1984. This is definitely a romantic teen comedy so if that's not your kind of movie, Sixteen Candles wouldn't make you feel better on a sick day. But to those whose guilty pleasures are 80's romantic comedies aimed at 16-year-old girls, this movie is for you.
3. Stuck In Love
This film begins as three different story lines that you soon see are the stories of a father, his son, and his daughter. They are played by Greg Kinnear, Nat Wolff, and Lily Collins. The movie focuses on the rocky relationships between all of the characters as they all deal with very real life issues, heartbreak, and discovering who they are. Logan Lerman, Liana Liberato, Jennifer Connelly, and Kristen Bell all play supporting roles to the three main characters.
4. Big Daddy
Big Daddy stars Adam Sandler and the two twins that many 90's kids love, Dylan and Cole Sprouse. Adam Sandler plays a care-free guy who couldn't care less about his responsibilities as an adult. One day, a 5-year-old boy named Julian, (played by Dylan and Cole,) shows up at Sonny's door claiming that Sonny is his biological father. The movie follows the two as Sonny who has no clue how to be a father to a little boy...becomes a father to a little boy.
5. White Chicks
Any one who says they don't like this movie is lying. Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans are the star of White Chicks. This comedy is about two African-American male FBI agents, who after multiple bumps in the road, end up going undercover as two blonde white women.
6. Can’t Buy Me Love
I may be a bit biased here due to my love for Patrick Dempsey. This movie from 1987 is about a dorky outcast Ronny, (played by Patrick Dempsey) who earns $1,000 and uses it to buy a date with the most popular girl in school in hopes that her popularity would rub off on him. Fans of Grey’s Anatomy; this movie is definitely a must watch for you.
7. Kevin Hart; Laugh At My Pain
This is the perfect movie to watch if you’re having a bad day and really need to laugh. Kevin Hart is edgy, hilarious, and will keep you laughing until the end of his live tour. I do suggest you don't watch this if you are under the age of sixteen...
