Easy Ways To Get Involved On Campus

Nervous about your first week at NCSU? Don't be! Here's a list of cool events to attend here on campus!

Easy Ways To Get Involved On Campus

Well folks, another year another first week of classes. For all the freshmen out there, welcome to campus! I remember as a freshman I was terrified…. I was scared I wouldn’t make any friends, I wouldn’t like campus, etc. But there are some really cool events during Wolfpack Welcome Week (WWW) August 16 – 22, that can help new students meet people and find out what all Raleigh and NCSU has to offer.

RecFest

Make sure to go get some free food, music, and meet a ton of cool people on Miller Fields for Recfest! This is such a cool event and all the freshmen are there. So grab a bunch of people from your hall and get some free t-shirts!

Convocation

While this is a mandatory event it was one of my favorite events during WWW because you get to hear the Dean speak. It just really pumped me up for all the great resources that NCSU has to offer, while extra-curricular events are great you also have to remember that we have one of the highest rated libraries in the nation (Hunt).

Respect the Pack

Here’s your chance to write in the Free Expression tunnel!!! This is such a cool tradition because at some point students are going to write in the Free Expression tunnel and this is a way to express yourself right from the start at NCSU.

Campus Connections

If you’re ready to get a lot of free pens, cups, and t-shirts go to this event! This is an event where all the extra curricular clubs meet and recruit new students to join their organizations! It’s interesting to see how many different clubs are there. From sports to animal science clubs to Latin dance clubs, you’ll definitely find a perfect fit!

College Connections

This is an event specific to your college, there are different activities based on what college you’re in, but you’re bound to meet so many people and advisors and get more connections.

Packapalooza

This is by far my (and everyone’s) FAVORITE event during WWW!!! All of Hillsborough Street is blocked off and there are food vendors, live music, clubs and organizations from campus, and so much to do!
