5 Book Series You Need To Read Right Now

If you are stuck for what your next read will be, how about starting a series. I know the trouble with starting a book series is having to wait for the next book in the series to come out. Well here are a couple suggestions of book series which you won’t have to wait for:

1. "The Mortal Instruments" series by Cassandra Clare

When Clary Fray comes home to her house in shambles and her mother gone, she is hopeless for where to start looking for her. Soon after, she is introduced to what her mother has been trying so hard to hide from her, Clary is a Shadowhunter. All those campfire stories about werewolves, vampires, and demons aren’t just stories. Clary teams up with Jace and the Lightwoods in a battle to find her mother and Clary’s true identity.

2. "Legend" series by Marie Lu

June has always been faithful to the Republic despite her misbehavior in school. She is way ahead in her studies and is a wise recruit for the Republic military. When her brother, Metias, is killed on a mission, June is taken in by the military and given an important mission to hunt down her brother’s killer. When June meets Day she exploits his location to the Republic, but soon enough she learns the truth about the death of her parents as well as Metias and begins to question her loyalties to the Republic.

3. "Delirium" series by Lauren Oliver

In the world which Lena lives love is a disease. Every person receives the procedure when they turn eighteen and are relieved of the deliria’s effects. But sometimes it’s too late. When Lena meets Alex, she begins to question the truth behind the deliria. Lena finds her falling in love with Alex, and although she knows the danger she can’t help herself. Is love really a disease? Why does it feel so good to be in love?

4. "The 100" series by Kass Morgan

As a result of a nuclear catastrophe on Earth, humanity has been living in space for hundreds of years. When the leaders learn that the ship they call home will soon fail at providing adequate living conditions, they make a vital decision to send 100 of their teen misfits to Earth in order to test whether the planet is survivable. Though the radiation levels or atmosphere conditions are not vital to their health, there are much more serious dangers on Earth which they were unaware of.

5. "Beautiful Creatures" series by Kami Garcia

Ethan Wate is ready to end high school and start a life away from Gatlin when he begins to have dreams about a beautiful girl he has never met. Then one day she is real. Lena Duchannes is not an ordinary girl. Lena is a Castor among many other Castors and supernatural creatures. Lena and Ethan’s relationship is dangerous, and as much as she tries to not hurt him she doesn’t have much control over her powers. Lena and Ethan are counting down the days until Lena’s 16th birthday and dreading every day that brings her closer to it because that day she will be claimed by her true nature: Light or Dark?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
