Many college students (if not all) face pressure from searching for a summer job. The lucky ones may come across a minimum wage job offer while the others may never find anything. There are many different types of jobs that students can find themselves in for the summer. Hopefully, this will help break it down for you.
Want to get paid and improve your likelihood of being hired? Yeah, don't we all. A paid internship is the best choice for you! Paid internships are reserved for those who have some serious good luck or know somebody in the business. Paid internships are not frequently found and are extremely competitive. Most of us will never know if we were hired because we give up halfway through the application.
Camp Counselor
Do you enjoy mediocre food and smelling bad? Then a camp counselor is perfect for your lifestyle. Camp counselors have to enjoy the great outdoors and also children. If you planned on having a relaxing summer (with air conditioning) then this is not the right job for you. If you don't want to be covered in mosquito bites 24/7 and communicate only through the postal service you should think twice before applying. Prerequisites for being a camp counselor include outdoor skills and no need to bathe regularly.
Nanny
Do you love kids and hanging out with them all the time? Then look no further than a summer-time nanny. Just hang out with some cool kids and drive them around. How hard could it be? Until they are bouncing off the wall and screaming. You have to have a genuinely positive attitude and loads of energy to look after small children in the summer.
Food Industry
Do you hate yourself? Then the food industry is always hiring!
Retail involves long hours and standing. If you don't mind these two factors then maybe retail is great for you! The best part of retail is the discount you receive but no discount will ever be worth all that you have to put up with.
House Painting or Landscaper
College kids are always doing these jobs in the summer, right? At least that's what I hear.
