Natural Beauty Should Be Something That Matters

Beauty Is Skin Deep. It's What Is On The Inside That Counts.

What is the deal with paparazzi? They may not be as bad as they used to be, but they are still out there and working hard to get unflattering photographs of celebrities. Why is that?! Do these magazines, gossip blogs, and consumers actually pay for these kinds of pictures?! Why? What is so great about having a picture of a celebrity who is just trying to be as human as they are allowed to be and possibly can be? Why try and showcase it and make it seem so horrible?

Everyone has natural beauty. These celebrities look just fine without makeup. Yes, they get paid most of the time to have their makeup looking beautiful, their hair looking perfect, and their wardrobe all stylish. It is their job to be glamorous while working on the set of a movie or television show. If they want to pay for a personal stylist, that is fine. If they just want to go out in public sometimes looking all normal, comfortable, and natural looking, that should be fine too.

I believe true beauty is on the inside, and the way people behave towards others is what should be significant. Therefore, that should be all that matters now-a-days. That is why I do applaud the celebrities that are doing these no makeup selfies on social media. It helps take the power away from the paparazzi and the people that buy the paparazzi's photos. Celebrities having people only see them looking fabulous and all dolled up creates an unrealistic expectation, especially for young women who may already be struggling with self-esteem issues. Seeing them looking natural, and sometimes flawed, makes them seem more comparable to the average person.

We have seen celebrities, as well as people who are not famous, having way too much plastic surgery to try to make themselves feel better about themselves and look more beautiful because they do not think they are. However, in hindsight it often makes them look worse. People should love themselves and just be happy with who they are and what they look like. That is how God created us and intended us to be. Sadly, this is not always the case though. Therefore, love yourself and just be yourself. Love who you are, what you are, and what you look like.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
