It's National Photo Day! Taking pictures is one of my favorite hobbies because I can show the world how I interpret the things that go on in my life! This year, I decided that I wanted to show everyone some of my favorite pictures from freshman year at Marist, where it all began!

One of the first things I noticed when I arrived here at Potown is the rotunda. Marist always finds a way to cast a beautiful sunset over the horizon right above the rotunda. Truly one of the best features of being a red fox!

I wasn't kidding about the weather. I was walking to my 8 a.m. class, one day, and I happen to see the sun bleed through the fog and thought it would be the opportune moment to capture the view.

You'd be lying if you said that you never spent some time down by the Hudson. Always a great spot to unwind and my favorite place to get some writing done.

When you're part of a team, you're part of a family. You go through good and bad times, celebrate each other's accomplishments, and create memories that last a lifetime. At the end of the day, you're part of the red fox family and you'll always have your teammates to pick you up when you're down.

Like I said, you'll always have your teammates.

I've always had a desire to do something greater than myself. I decided that in order to accomplish that, I needed to take on a profession which challenges you and teaches you how to lead others. The Army ROTC program at Marist has greatly aided me in accomplishing that task. My first year partaking in the program is a year which I value greatly because it created the base needed for me to progress as a leader in a constantly changing society.

It's truly a brotherhood like no other.

It's unbelievable how many friends I have made throughout my freshman year. All it takes is a few people and some good ideas to have a great time!

Getting confirmed by the church on campus was definitely a highlight during my freshman year! I did it to honor my Uncle Kevin who played a major role in my life. He'll always be in my thoughts and prayers.

I learned so much as a person throughout my freshman year of college. Learning things such as time management, how to throw yourself out there, and trying new things helped me become more ready for what the future holds. One year down, three to go!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
