Ahh, that uni life. The perpetual routines of waking up for 8 am classes or shifts at work. Or even waking up for any morning work shifts or classes. Waking up for them is a pain, especially if you were up late the previous night working on a big project or paper.
The morning hits you like a ton of bricks, and you feel like you're still tired after waking up. You pull yourself together and drag yourself to your job or class. But you realized you have a small break in your schedule before your next class.
You desperately need to recharge and you can't go back to your dorm or your apartment. Besides to coffee, what do you do about this?
You nap, of course!
Naps are a much-needed thing for college students and as a veteran college napper, I am going to give you a list of locations you could nap in.
1. Gatton Business and Economics Building
On the ground floor next to the Brioche Doree restaurant, is an area full of tables, chairs, and couches.
If you are a tall guy like me, I would not recommend the couch (because they're short). I would recommend to the tall guys the chairs. Now the couches would be perfect for a short girl or short guys.
What's good about Gatton is as soon as you wake up from your nap, you could grab a cup of coffee from the restaurant to give you an energy boost.
2. Patterson Office Tower (POT)
On the first floor of POT, there is chair-like couches near the elevators you could sit and take a nap in. You could also pull a table closer to you and prop your feet up.
The only downside to this location is during the fall and winter, it could get cold there because people are constantly opening the door.
Also in POT is Intermezzo, a restaurant that offers things like grilled cheese and ham sandwiches for lunch and they have an amazing breakfast menu. If you ever need something to eat for breakfast, I recommend this place.
If you don't feel like eating a full meal and are just wanting something to snack on, POT also has Wildcat Pantry, a convenience store that has all sorts of snacks, candy, and drinks.
3. William T. Young Library (Willy T)
Willy T has two couches on the first floor near core four (I think? Don't hold me to that.) that you could take a nap on. These couches are a little bigger, so I think tall guys and girls would be comfortable sleeping on these. If these couches are taken there are more couches on the second floor next to the periodical section.
Afterward, you could go to Starbucks and get you a coffee to give you more energy.
4. Jacobs Science Building
On the second floor of Jacobs, there are really comfy chairs you could sit back in and nod off to sleep. What is better about these chairs is they have electrical outlets in them, so if you needed to charge your phone or laptop while you take a nap, you could.
Also in this building is Freshii, a popular healthy food option for students that are vegan, vegetarian or are just watching their figure. I tried it once and it wasn't my cup of tea. The food was great, but I'm not a big vegetable guy. I like eating copious amounts of meat. This is another option to go eat at when you wake up from your nap.
5. Last but not least, the Baptist Campus Ministry (BCM) and Christian Student Fellowship (CSF)
The CSF and the BCM both have very comfy couches suitable for napping. Personally, I think the CSF couches are comfier, but I'll let you be the judge of that. When you wake up from your nap, these places have friendly, generous people in there you can talk to. They don't judge and are people like you and me.
But, this is college, and wherever we can put our head down is where we can take a nap. As a veteran college sleeper, I think we should choose very comfortable napping spots.
