If you attend Old Dominion University or live close by you might have heard of a new and upcoming clothing company, Namici. For those of you who do not know yet what Namici is or what they stand for get ready to be heading over to their website by the end of this article and ordering yourself a shirt of theirs!
Namici was formed when two friends and Old Dominion University alumni, Tyler Poffenberger and Jackson Keyes came together to create this company. The idea sprung from Tyler’s old company, Frockets by Poff, which was a successful t-shirt company that shipped custom pocket tees across the country. This time, however, the two friends wanted to create not only a t-shirt company but a brand and one that would help the community as well.
The two friends quickly got to work on forming and making this dream a reality. Through the help of social media and word of mouth the two were able to quickly get the word out about this new company. Designs were then put underway for creating a brand that would stand out against others and still be fashionable. When asked about the designs and the company Kelli Goforth said "the clothing is comfortable and stylish and it really caters to Norfolk but has so much potential to branch out and become more". With a style that everyone was loving so far it was time to go live and let everyone know what they were about.
As stated on their website "at Namici, we strive to make a difference in people's lives". With this belief and their brand about being able to help others they partnered up with The Union Mission. For every shirt that is sold, depending on the style, a certain amount of meals will be donated by Namici. Therefore, the more shirts that are bought the more meals can be donated. This affects Norfolk directly by helping those less fortunate in our own community.

With the style and the mission all set up and ready to go the next part of this dream coming true was opening the orders up and shipping out. When one orders a shirt from Namici they will receive the shirt in a plastic wrap. On top of the shirt they will get a note explaining the company's mission which is personally signed. Along with that they also receive a few stickers that can be placed on top of laptops or other places. All of this is neatly wrapped in a wrapping and tied around. This company has gone above and beyond to make sure that their product is being shipped in the upmost fashion and that every customer that receives a shirt understands what they are helping as well.
Currently Namici has two shirts up for order that anyone can buy, The Norfolk and The Napeachy. The Norfolk is the original grey shirt with the Virginia logo and the mermaid and anchor on it. This shirt is available for $25 plus shipping and handling and with the purchase of this shirt there are two meals donated to The Union Mission in Norfolk. The long sleeve shirt, The Napeachy, is available for $30 plus shipping and handling. With the purchase of The Napeachy, Namici donates four meals to The Union Mission.
So far Namici has had a positive reaction from the community at Old Dominion and Norfolk. When on campus one can see someone wearing one of these stylish shirts on any given day. This company is going above and beyond to get their name out there and let everyone know what they are all about.

Overall this company is for sure on the rise and going places in the future. In the word's of Sara Sieracki "so buy one before you're the one kid in class not wearing one and you look like a loser". You can head over to their website to order one or over to Borjo's on Monarch Place where they are now sold!
