If you're named after a parent, grandparent, or any family member then, like me, you're probably annoyed by that fact 95 percent of the time. In my case, I'm named after my grandmother, but, I also happen to share my name with my aunt.
You've probably learned that it's both a blessing and curse. It's a curse when you can't get away with anything as a teenager since your neighbors probably know who you're named after. Example: You get pulled over for speeding and the officer takes one look at your license and goes, "I went to high school/go to church with a [insert name]. Are you related?" Which means that you most likely will not be able to hide that from your parents or other family members. For me, having three Treva's made family dinners all the more overwhelming. Especially when you're grandpa calls for one of you, but you all three come to his aid.
At the same time, it's a blessing when you get the honor of being named after your wonderful grandmother, father, uncle, etc. Your parents wouldn't have named you after them if they weren't worth being named after.
