A Thank You Letter To My Purple Nalgene

If it weren't for you I would literally be a dehydrated sponge.

The water bottle, the overlooked and unsung hero of our daily life. The plastic receptacle that is capable of holding us living beings' source of life.

Oh, my purple Nalgene, what would I ever do without you?

A day doesn't go by where I don't need to use your life giving and life sustaining capabilities. Over the past few years, you've transformed into so much more than just a bottle. You're a friend and companion. We've been through so much.

Little waterbottle I'm so sorry for all of the times I've dropped you while hiking, running, or exiting my car. Even though all of the ups and downs (Sorry for literally tossing you up in the air and all around so much).

You've been there to sustain me through the most interesting of nights (looking at you, ultimate Jenga, lake water, and bonfires). Through early morning practices to late nights studying you're constant and you're true. I'm sorry I broke your lid and had to buy you a new part. Don't worry, you're just as lovely as when I first got you and I still love you just the same.

There aren't enough words in the English dictionary to convey my thankfulness to you for all that you do. You're covered in memories of places we've visited and things we've done. The stickers that mark your sides are representative of all of the life you've been a part of. Thank you for keeping me alive.

Thank you for being the match that's started conversations with strangers. For being the identifier and beacon of life to all who come in contact with you.

You're wonderful, and I'll never forget all of the memories we've made together.

Love,

Your hydrated owner

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
