My Most Important Values

The moral code that guides my life.

My Most Important Values
NPCC

In life, there are many traits and qualities that I hold as important or deserving of meaning or significance. Values are certain principles that I hold and are unwavering. It is a moral code I use to guide my life. They are ideals that I am unwilling to stray away from or change. Values are something that I hold as valid and true which also make up my character and mold into my everyday identity through my words and actions.

The value I hold as the most critical and most important is honesty. Honesty is the only way a relationship works for me. If there is no honesty, then there is no trust. If I can't believe in someone's words or actions, than that relationship doesn't seem true in my eyes.

My next top value is loyalty. A relationship with a person or something means nothing without the faithfulness of another. In addition, loyalty is the support that gives the relationship its bond and strength. In a way, it's my security blanket. To feel truly safe, loyalty should play a key component in any connection with another person.

Commitment is of vast significance to me. I believe that a part of my daily drive to get tasks done or what helps me achieve things in my life is being dedicated or devoted, basically committed. In relationships, it's the same way. Relationships with family, friends and significant others take work. It's an obligation and a responsibility. You will most likely be committed to what's important in your life. Being a first generation college student is something that I am dedicated and committed to. Completing college is definitely one of the most important goals in my life right now.

Humility is a huge value in my life. I have always been taught that I am no worse than anyone and I am no better than anyone. We are all equal and deserve a fair chance. It is not right for me to judge another when I am imperfect myself. I am never too good to not help someone out.

Kindness is also an important value. You can always use more of it and to be honest, you can never have too much kindness. You have no clue who you might meet on a daily basis and you will never know how much that person might need your kindness. One smile, a small gesture, or helping hand can make a difference beyond your imagination. It really doesn't take much to be kind to people, and in the end, it is nothing but rewarding and also makes you happy.

There are many more qualities and traits that I believe are of great importance, but would take forever to write about. My top five values however, are honesty, loyalty, commitment, humility and kindness. Especially, kindness; it's always something we can have more of. I encourage you with people you meet in your everyday life or people you already know to go out of your way and do something nice for them. It will make their day more than you know.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
